Temperatures Rise,Here's What You Can Do Outside In The Heat

Even as summer comes surging through much earlier than anticipated, life has not come to a standstill. More than 100 people are reported to have died of the heat in Telangana alone while the national number stands at more than 204. Over 25 per cent of India's population is affected by the drought

Offer ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) instead of plain water

Start small. If someone shows up at your door with a courier, offer them ORS instead of just plain water. Delivery boys and marketing executives spend a lot of time out in the heat and are often parched, with no access to safe drinking water. ORS will not just quench their thirst but also provide fresh salts to face the sun.

It is easy to forget an umbrella or water in the rush to leave the house. Be kind. Offer the shade of your umbrella to someone while crossing the street or share your drinking water with someone who might be in need. If you use public transport, assist others who show symptoms of heat exhaustion.
